HOUSTON (Nov. 29, 2007)–
Texas’ 46th Annual Christmas Boat Lane Parade on Clear
Lake is the evening of Saturday, December 8th. At 6:00 pm,
as fireworks light up the sky from the City of Nassau Bay
to signify the start of the parade, the Beacon Island Lighthouse
new holiday lighting will be unveiled. Light Partners has
designed a night lighting scheme that will employ ground-mounted,
high-luminous, directional LED (light emitting diode) lanterns
that can cast millions of interchanging colors, controlled
by a computer program. The five white bands around the black
and white Beacon Island lighthouse will serve as canvasses
that will be adorned with a variety of vibrant colors and
patterns.
“As the event that has kicked off the holiday season
in Clear Lake for 46 years, we are thrilled that The Verandah
Companies has chosen the Christmas Boat Lane Parade to premiere
their modern holiday light show,” said Boat Parade Chairman
Jim Christiansen. “The light affects will only add to
the excitement for the 100,000 people enjoying the parade
from land and from hundreds of boats anchored throughout the
Lake,” said Christiansen.
From traditional to unique, the decorations aboard the 150
beautiful vessels will provide a symphony of colors and music
and a variety of fanciful designs as Santa’s, elves,
angels and other passengers dance and sing seasons greetings
to viewers shore side and on hundreds of spectator boats along
the route.
